Cut through a real egg from this site: an even wall, and a thread that closes in line.

What you download

  • One 3MF fileBoth halves on one plate, standing on their cut faces.
  • Screw threadCloses in line, so the design lines up across the seam.
  • Even wallHollow inside, room for a gift. Less filament, faster print.

What goes inside

  • A desk object

Paper clips, SD cards, a USB stick. In one plain colour it looks like something from a design shop.

  • A printer test

Ridges and lattices show off surface quality. Print the same curve at two layer heights and compare.

  • A gift no one else has

Set the numbers to a date — 12 ridges, 0.25 twist — and the egg is yours alone.

Curves that print well

  • Twist more than about 1.5 turns and the ridges get steep near the tip.
  • Fewer, deeper ridges read better than many shallow ones.
  • Lattices look best with a twist between 0.6 and 1.

FAQ

Will my item fit inside?

Make the egg taller in Create for more room inside. The tightest spot is the thread opening, a little narrower than the inside, so measure against that.

Can I sell the prints?

Yes. Eggs you make here are yours to print and sell.

What if the result looks wrong?

Generations that fail are refunded automatically. If one comes out unusable, write to us and we'll refund the credits.
